Bridgette Kerkove: Come Love Me

Porn Valley- Until his attorney gives him the green light, there’s a lot of things Skeeter Kerkove can’t say right now about the night of April 25.

That’s the night Metro contract director Bridgette Kerkove is telling Skeeter come love me with one side of her mouth, and then accusing him with the other of molesting his baby daughter. As Skeeter was leaving the house that night, Metro director Kerkove tells him “we’ll miss you”- a tip off of what was going to come crashing down on Skeeter’s blue bandana.

Skeeter gets a call from Gustavo Chavarria the next morning telling him, “Skeeter- what’s going on. I just talked to Bridgette and she said I can’t talk right now. Something bad has happened.” Skeeter’s going to Gustavo nothing’s going on- everything’s fine. That’s because Skeeter had just talked to Metro director Kerkove the moment before and all indications were that she seemed fine to him.

“He seemed surprised by that,” said Skeeter. “Me and Bridgette were together the night before; we had been at the Long Beach Aquarium Sunday night. I said everything’s fine. When I hung up I realized, hey, that man has never called me once and asked me a question about Bridgette. Of all the years he’s been at Metro, Gustavo has never called me and asked me what’s going on. Or anything like that. Not one time. So why on the 26th?”

Skeeter then called Mertro director Kerkove back and she practically tore his head off. “I told you I can’t talk!”

She then hung up on him and Skeeter’s saying now he knows he’s really in trouble. For what he doesn’t know. “She probably read something on the Internet. I don’t know what to do. I’m supposed to make plans to go to Catalina.” This time without caller ID, Skeeter calls Metro director Kerkove again. “I’m just calling to make plans for the weekend. She goes ooooh and then hangs up the phone. This is mind blowing. I don’t know what’s going on. Gustavo calls me later- hey, Skeeter, where are you going to shoot on Friday? He never asked me that before. Why do you want to know? I might come by and visit. Gustavo doesn’t visit porn sets. He’s going let me know right away I want to come by.”

Skeeter’s wondering why, all of a sudden this healthy interest in him. “Whatever his and Bridgette’s plans were, they knew they had to get me spotted somewhere. That would have been the 29th on a Friday.” Skeeter called Gustavo later and asked him what was going on. “You said you had spoken to Bridgette- why is she mad at me. He goes, Skeeter, you know how girls are. They get crazy. He’s saying all this stuff and it sounds totally fake. You said you talked to her- why is she saying that she couldn’t talk and something bad happened, I got to go. He’s, like, oh, no. It was just something to do with the gardener. And that’s when he lied. The gardener comes up Mondays, not Tuesdays and the gardener never knocks on the door. They just start mowing the lawn and hedges. They’re guys hired by the landlord. There’s no knocking. Why would he lie? He already knew what was going on. He’s saying it was the gardener.”

Another fib, according to Skeeter finds its way in her police report, when Metro director Kerkove offers this interesting if not contradictory detail: “The children were upstairs in bed and mother and father were watching TV. Mother had been working for the past three days on a film production and stated she was very tired and fell asleep on the sofa.”

As Ronald Reagan once said to Jimmy Carter during their famous debates, “There you go again.”

Skeeter’s legal defense is basically an attempt to disassemble statement by statement, Metro director Kerkove’s allegations against him; and in a throwaway detail, she offers the cops another reason to suspect that her entire case against Skeeter is flimsy at best. Skeeter says Bridgette Kerkove had been with him those three days and not producing a movie. In her statement to the police Metro director Kerkove also states that the reason she invited Skeeter over the night of April 25th was because he hadn’t beaten her in months. “That is her exact words,” says Skeeter.

“And those past three days she had spent with me,” Skeeter continues, “along with a visit to Dr. Randall Digbee Hayworth in Beverly Hills and Kaiser hospital to get an inoculation shot for our son. How do you tell that lie?”

What about the so-called movie I’m asking Skeeter. “Saturday and Sunday she did not produce a movie as she told the police,” says Skeeter. “She was with me,” he continues to state.

On April 22nd, a Friday, Metro director Kerkove was at a location doing a movie. “She did incredible time- we talked to each other all day,” says Skeeter. “She had been calling me to make sure I had made arrangements for that Saturday for us to go to the Long Beach Aquarium with our children. On the way home from the Aquarium she calls Jake Jacobs and asks him a question about editing. We make it home and hang out for awhile. I suggest let me take the dogs for a walk. All of us go for a walk. We come back and go out to eat at a sushi place and go shopping. Sunday I left 9:30 in the morning. I called her throughout that day. She’s home the entire time. After I visit my oldest daughter, I’m going to Bridgette’s. She calls me to stop off to buy wipes and ointment for the baby for diaper rash.”

But Skeeter also buys other items which includes clothes and other baby items for the kids. “I make it there on time for Deadwood to start because she also gets it on eastern time. Then she goes into the kitchen and she’s looking at all the stuff- I can’t believe how much stuff you bought. This is how I want you to be all the time. This is the way it should be. We go to bed that night and she asks me to take the dogs to the vet in the morning. I’m not excited about it but I agree to do it because she’s going to go to Dr. Randall Digbee Hayworth’s to get steroid shots in her nose. So I take the two dogs to the Vet [the morning of April 25]. I kind of stand out at the Vets with tattoos, the tank top and the brand new Jaguar.”

Skeeter says on that day he and Bridgette are talking on the phone throughout, but he also notices that she’s talking to Gustavo in equal amounts.

“She’s not producing a movie. She’s not putting a movie together. She doesn’t have anything to do for the rest of the month. The phone bill shows that she calls me and after talking to me for four minutes she’s calling Gustavo the moment after. Then she calls me again, then calls Gustavo again.”

Later that afternoon, Skeeter gets a call from Metro director Kerkove. “Are you coming over? Yeah, but I want to shower. She says come over now.” Skeeter’s being told that the kids are down for the night. “She knows I can procrastinate but she’s affirming that I’m coming right away.” But when Skeeter is delayed in getting over there, he says Metro director Kerkove is mad as hell. Almost as if some major plan had been fucked up.

Skeeter keeps stressing the fact that Metro director Kerkove didn’t file a police report until after 7 pm on the night of April 27th- two days after the alleged incident.

In assessing the telephone records, Skeeter notes that Metro director Kerkove among other things also managed to find time to call R Dog about a production before even going to the cops.

“She’s asking the name of a guy for a location,” says Skeeter. “What was she doing that day? Wasn’t her daughter her concern? All morning, all day, Bridgette’s driving around and calling Gustavo but there’s no police calls or hospital visits. Then around 7:30 that night she calls the LAPD. A unit responds to her house and they immediately take her and our daughter to the hospital. That’s the law. That’s how they do it. They immediately take you to Northridge so that no evidence is compromised. According to my attorney, the police asked my daughter questions and she had nothing bad to say about me. The nurse at the Northridge hospital asked my daughter questions and she had nothing to say. At some point later on, days down the line, she had been interviewed a couple more times by social workers. At that time she had nothing to say. This is the period of time when her memory would be the freshest and she’s being interviewed by numerous different people.”

In recent days Skeeter Kerkove has taken a polygraph, administered by one of the top three experts in the country, and passed it with flying colors. He never laid a hand on his daughter.
