Drinks back on tap at Scores West

MANHATTAN- A day after having its liquor license suspended due to prostitution arrests, cocktails are flowing at Scores West.

Attorneys for the club got a temporary restraining order yesterday to block the suspension announced Wednesday by the State Liquor Authority, according to spokesman Bill Crowley. The SLA suspended Scores’ liquor license following an undercover NYPD operation last month that netted seven arrests, including four dancers who were charged with prostitution.

“We are serving liquor again,” said the club’s publicist, Lonnie Hanover.

Crowley said the NYPD referred the matter to the SLA’s Rapid Enforcement Unit and that it charged Scores with allowing prostitution and failure to provide adequate supervision of the premises. A hearing on the charges will be held within two weeks, he said.

“Instead of the summary suspension going through, the judge has suspended that suspension,” Crowley said. “They can serve alcohol again.”
