from www.dailyworld.com – Hussam Zeidan was charged Tuesday with obscenity and possession with the intent to distribute drug paraphernalia during a raid on Main Street Grocery, 517 Main St., Washington.
The arrest was made by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Washington Police Department.
It resulted from a joint operation of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Opelousas Police Department earlier that day.
The Sheriff’s Office and Opelousas police had raided three Opelousas convenience stores and recovered pornographic videos and drug paraphernalia.Information obtained after the raids on the Opelousas business led authorities to conduct a subsequent raid on the Washington store.
During the initial raids at the Fast Way Food Mart, Fina Creswell Station and Airport Quick Stop, four men were arrested:
– Fakher Fakhri Asfour was charged with sales and distribution of materials harmful to minors, two counts of obscenity, possession with intent to distribute legend drugs and possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia.
– Ali Kassem Maklani was charged with sales and distribution of materials harmful to minors and two counts of obscenity
– Qaid Ahmed Alhalmi was charged with sales and distribution of materials harmful to minors, five counts of obscenity and possession with the intent to distribute drug paraphernalia
– Asaad Saleh Zamzami was charged with obscenity, possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
