from www.wqad.com – A 26-year-old female teacher is facing charges after she was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student at Fulton High School.
Fulton, Illinois Police say they got a report from the Riverbend School District office that allegations were made of an improper relationship between a student and a teacher.

“An investigation was initiated, and the result revealed a sexual relationship involving a 16-year-old student,” said Lt. Donnie Pridemore of the Fulton Police Department.

The teacher, Nicole Letcher, 26, of Fulton, was arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor. Letcher was expected to be arraigned in Whiteside County Court on May 26, 2011.

Letcher teaches English at Fulton High School.

Ashford University recently awarded a full scholarship to Letcher to pursue her Master of Arts in Education. The scholarship was awarded April 20, 2011.
