from www.usatoday.com – Lawrence Taylor pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor sex charges on Thursday in connection with his arrest last May.
In return for his plea, Taylor will avoid jail time and be subject to six years probation. The Pro Football Hall of Famer will also have to register as a sex offender, ESPN reported.
Taylor, 51, pleaded guilty to charges of sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute.
He was arrested last May outside New York and accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl police said had been prostituted against her will.
On Thursday, Taylor told the court that the victim told him she was 19.
Taylor was originally charged with a class-E felony rape charge. Police said he had sex with the 16-year-old whom they said Rasheed Davis had forced into prostitution.
Police alleged Taylor paid the victim $300, which she then turned over to Davis.
Police later arrested Davis, who pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking.
