According to TMZ, this will be her tenth stint in treatment for substance abuse.
The former “One Day at a Time” star has been formally charged with felony possession of drugs stemming from the Aug. 27 incident.
District Attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison says Phillips has been charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, heroin and cocaine. She also faces a misdemeanor count of unauthorized possession of a needle or syringe.
The 48-year-old Phillips is out on $20,000 bail.
Phillips was heading to New York last month when she failed to pass a security screening and a secondary search turned up needles and suspected drugs.
She is the daughter of John Phillips, founder of The Mamas and the Papas pop group. She was fired from “One Day at a Time” in 1982 for drug-related reasons.
