from www.gaywired.com – Comedian Margaret Cho has been a pop culture pioneer for many years. She has raised the profile of Asian-Americans and women in entertainment, and has been a tireless campaigner for gay rights.
Tuesday night, Cho guested on E!’s Chelsea Lately to spread the word about her latest first: premier female cover model for the newest issue of gay adult magazine Unzipped. [Note: Gaywired and Unzipped are both owned by Hyperion Multimedia.]
Cho appears on the magazine’s cover dominating gay porn actor Ricky Sinz.
From Unzipped.net:
What’s a woman—much less a mainstream celebrity—doing on the cover of a magazine known for delivering hard cocks to your doorstep every month? Easy: We chose Margaret to be on the cover not only because of her outrageous, on-the-edge personality, but also because of her steadfast loyalty to the gay community and her no-holds-barred openness about her sexuality. During both the photo shoot and her accompanying interview with Ricky, she did not disappoint on any of these counts.
Hooking Margaret up with Ricky Sinz was a no-brainer: The GayVN Award-winning performer shares many of the same traits (both he and Margaret identify as bisexual), plus both of them have a fondness for covering their bodies with tattoos. We thought they would totally hit it off. Luckily for us, they proved us right. The shoot was photographed by celebrity and fashion photographer Trevor O’Shana, and was a total blast from start to finish.
“I loved doing the shoot for Unzipped,” Margaret says. “It is a tremendous honor to be the first woman on the cover, and I loved meeting Ricky Sinz. He was sweet and sexy—the most adorable porn star ever. I even had to write a song about it!”
For his part, Ricky was just as elated about the shoot. “When Unzipped magazine contacted me about doing a cover, I said, ‘Hell yes!'” the erstwhile stud exclaims. “I have always wanted to be on the cover of Unzipped, but when I was told it was with Margaret Cho, my jaw dropped to the floor. The shoot was a lot of fun. It was really laid back and everyone on the set was a lot of fun to work with. We had a chance to be really creative and try different styles and looks. I love any chance I get to do something new and different. It was definitely something I will remember forever.”
