Salem mother denies running prostitution business in basement

SALEM, Mass. — [WBDH.com] A dirty dominatrix spoke exclusively with 7NEWS about being tied up by the law officers for allegedly running a sex shop in the basement of her Salem home.

Paula Webb, 42, allegedly entertained clients, even when her husband and two, young kids were upstairs, according to the Salem News.

An undercover policeman arrested the stocky, self-proclaimed dominatrix after she offered to perform sexual acts for him.

“I went to court yesterday blindsided,” said Webb.” I believe I was set up.”

On Thursday in Salem District Court, Webb pleaded not guilty to a single, misdemeanor charge of prostitution.

“I believe so,” said Webb, when asked if she thought the charges against her were bogus.

Police first stumbled on to Webb’s sexual activities on March 16 when responding to a domestic dispute reported at her Albion St. residence.

Webb reportedly became angered last month when her husband, Stephen, had not cleared the snow off their car. She left as police were still in the house, according to authorities.

Her 54-year-old spouse then led officers to the basement that Webb had decorated to look like a dungeon. Along with eye hooks screwed into the ceiling beams, authorities also found a variety of whips, chains, ropes and other items.

Webb’s husband, who said the family had been dealing with financial difficulties, also referred authorities to his wife’s Web page as well as other sites she advertised her services on. Officers used her Internet postings to set up the sting operation.

A judge released Webb on her own recognizance on the condition that she shut down her Web site and not use computers.

She is expected back in court on June 5.

While authorities have not filed any charges against her husband, they did submit a child endangerment report to the Department of Social Services.
