FORT WORTH, Texas — A man shot and killed a 21-year-old dancer at a topless bar in Fort Worth, Texas, before turning the gun on himself.
Police say it appears jealousy was the motive in the shooting, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
The newspaper said Dante Empie, 26, had been at the T&A Cabaret for more than an hour when he pulled out a gun and shot 21-year-old Ashleigh Jene Stone in the head.
A short time later, Empie put the gun to his own head and killed himself.
“They apparently had a relationship that was recently terminated by her,” homicide Sgt. J.D. Thornton told the Star-Telegram.
Fellow dancer Crystal Sam, however, said she wasn’t aware that Stone and Empie had ever had a relationship.
“He was infatuated with her,” said Sam. “He couldn’t get what he wanted. He couldn’t have her.”
A Fort Worth man was fatally shot by police inside the club last month after taking a dancer hostage, the newspaper said.
