AP released a story about a 15 year old Pittsburgh girl who took pictures of herself naked and posted them on the internet. The story reads as follows:
PITTSBURGH – A 15-year-old girl has been arrested for taking nude photographs of her self and posting them on the Internet, police said.
The girl, whose identity was withheld, was accused of sending out photographs of herself in various states of undress and performing a variety of sexual acts. She sent them to people she met in chat rooms on the Internet, police said.
Police seized her computer and found dozens of photographs stored on the hard drive. Authorities did not say how police learned about the girl.
She has been charged with sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography.

Editor’s Note:
Now while I agree this is wrong, I think the penalty for this girl was a little ridiculous. Charged with sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography?
Wait a minute. Aren’t the pictures she has on her hard drive of HER? Does that mean the naked pics of me I have on my hard drive make me guilty of possession of ugly man naked pics? Don’t answer that.
Seriously though, I think the charge should be something along the line of distributing child pornography on the internet or underage indecency. If someone is underage, what gives anyone in the country the right to say they can’t take naked photos of themselves for private use only?
I don’t want to see them and I don’t want them spread around the web. Since she went that far, I agree that this type of behavior is inappropriate, but how is she sexually abusing children? If underage kids take pics of themselves nekkid and don’t distribute them, it has no affect on me whatsoever and I could care less. I mean, unless they’re like 10 or some shit. But a high school girl coming into her own, experimenting with her sexuality, doesn’t bother me at all as long as it stops there. I feel, in the privacy of their own home, they have the right to do whatever they want. Since this girl posted the pics, that’s where the problem lies, in my opinion.
