The Mike Ross Story

Porn Valley- It seems that America’s trade magazine is doing a piece on Mike Ross whether the state lobbyist wants it or not. Ross who has been critical of a certain publication is being told that he’s a focus of a piece by said publication. I talked to Ross on a couple of occasions and this is the upshoot of those convers.

“I’ve heard all this negative stuff about me,” says Ross. “And I’m surprised no one’s picked up the phone to call me. I’m really surprised because I was told they’re working on this massive story about me and how bad I am. You’d think their reporting style would be to pick up the phone, call the other side and say, hey, give us a quote on this. They haven’t.” Ross, who’s been backing an entertainers bill of rights in Sacramento, tells me that porn performers are also being told not to speak to him. “But I’m on their side,” he states.

“I don’t want anything from them except for them to stay healthy and alive so they can make movies.” Alluding to what vaguely sounds like strong arm tactics, Ross says, “The word has gone out that if you talk to Mike Ross, you won’t be in the magazine and you won’t be able to work any more.” Ross said he’s not going to be scared away. “I have done absolutely nothing wrong for them to come out and be saying these things. But it only adds more fuel to the fire,” he says.

“Because when fingers are being pointed at me legislators turn around and say well, it’s just the porn industry again. Mike must be doing something right, let’s listen to him.”

Asked how he got wind of an alleged roast-in-the-works, Ross said he got a heads-up from someone he hadn’t heard from in about three years. “I kind of laughed it off,” he says. “We talked for a half-hour or so. Then I got another call from another source. It was just funny because of the timing- two different people. Apparently they were being contacted to give out information about me because they had dealt with me in the past. They were told there was this big story planned on Mike Ross because he’s really bad for the industry, that he’s a liar and he’s a thief. It was really strange because they both called me while I was teaching. And the thing that really pissed me off was it was said they were going after my teaching job.”

If such talk inspires chuckles, Ross said he has to take the allegations seriously. “People that I know, but who wouldn’t know each other [now up to a half dozen corroborations according to Ross], are being told that I’m a liar, a cheat and a fraud and that it’s going to be proved. It’s been the decision to ‘bring Mike Ross down.’ “
