CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Combining their expertise in sales and production, two respected industry veterans join to launch Triad Releasing, an adult distributor. The company will focus on bringing their clients' movies to new formats consumers are quickly embracing.

Bill Treadway, Triad Releasing's president and sales manager and formerly of New Sensations/Digital Sin, and Sinsation owner Paul Marco founded the company. It represents Sinsation, Jewel De'Nyle's Platinum Jewel, Argentine studio Cine X Latino and Russian newcomer Redlines Entertainment.

The first movies distributed by Triad Releasing from its 20,000-square-foot facility will be on store shelves next month. In addition to titles from Sinsation and Platinum Jewel, Cine X Latino will release a transsexual and straight title in Spanish, and will ship gay titles in March. Redlines Entertainment will also release an all-sex and a foot, fem-dom or pegging fetish title each month.

"We're also talking to several other studios," Marco said, "and we expect to have them on board in the next few days."

Triad Releasing promises to be more than a traditional distributor and will focus on high definition titles in addition to emerging content delivery technologies.

"Triad Releasing will be the premier distributor of Blu-Ray discs in the adult industry through our pricing, service and sales incentives," Treadway, who has close to 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, said. "But one of the adult industry's problems is that many companies say their product is in HD, but it's not true HD. We will work with our producers to ensure their titles are shot in true high definition. This is the format of the future and we want to make sure our clients are prepared to give the consumers what they want."

Treadway sees Blu-Ray taking off in 2009, with demand for HD titles blossoming due to lower Blu-Ray player prices and increased consumer demand. He will also ensure Triad Releasing's producers are well represented in the IPTV, Internet video on demand, mobile phone, broadcast TV and cable markets, which are very important revenue streams that cannot be ignored and must be exploited, he said.

"People have always turned to the movies when the economy is down," Treadway added. "They stop buying big ticket items and they stop buying non-necessities but they want and need to be entertained. We see this as a period for the adult industry to grow in areas like Blu-Ray and electronic delivery because the fans are still there — and they want to escape."

A B2B website, triadreleasing.com, featuring art, trailers and cast lists will launch next month.
