Ric Williams posts: As proof once again that Harry doesn’t know what the fuck he is talking about, Harry says that he is an agent…his name is not on the Talent Agency database, so he is not an agent.

If it is as simple as filling out a form and getting a bond, why doesn’t Harry do it? A licensed talent agent is required by law to have his contract with talent approved by the State Labor Commissioner. Yes, we can accept money on behalf of our clients, but that money goes into a trust account and talent must be paid their share within 14 days. Most agents pay the talent right away unless there is a question of the check clearing, then it may take up to 5 days.

The Talent Agency Act was put into place to protect talent from suitcase pimps and unethical managers. Now, are there licensed agents that do not do a good job for their talent…of course, but then they usually do not keep their talent for very long. Does Harry even know what Breakdown Services is? How about AFTRA and SAG? Is he trying to get his talent mainstream exposure to increase their popularity? I could go on and on, but the best way to shut me up is to get licensed so that we can compete on a level, legal playing field! All Harry or any other unlicensed manager/agent needs is for one of their talent to get pissed off and go to the state Labor Commissioner and they will find out how fast they can go out of business.
