A tip of the hat to Heather Pick for pointing out this article from 1996. We had completely forgotten about this incident which was also written up in AVN at the time.
[Free Library] Woodland Hills- After residents complained about sex acts in a neighbor’s yard – some of which were visible during a children’s birthday party – police caught some suspects in the flesh Thursday.
Patrol officers arrived at the house in the 22300 block of Dolorosa Street, about 12:15 p.m. and interrupted the two people, who were actors making a video, said Sgt. Steve Merrin of the West Valley vice detail.
Arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor lewd conduct were Mark Goldberg, 36, of Sherman Oaks, and Lottie Rumble, 24, of New York, police said.
“Patrol got a call about naked people in the yard, neighbors were complaining,” Merrin said. “They got there, from where the lady was complaining, the officers saw a male and female engaged in a sex act in the back yard.
“They had a full film crew there,” Merrin said. “Over the weekend, there was a children’s birthday party, and they said they could see these people in the back yard.”
The director of the production was cited for filming without a permit, as were two people who sublet the home to the production crew.
Merrin said the production company faces fines and that the neighbors were rightly incensed by the filming.
“Do the neighbors have to put up with this? Under the guise of the First Amendment? I can’t believe how may complaints we get over this, our hands are tied, but in this case, we actually observed it.”
