from www.411mania.com – Riley Steele knows how to make an impact. Born and raised in San Diego, California, Riley has been determined to be the best no matter what she pursues. A fan of adult entertainment and an even bigger fan of Jesse Jane, she followed her ultimate dream to follow Jesse’s footsteps and become an internationally acclaimed sex symbol.
She took her first step when she went to Hustler Hollywood to meet her idol during an appearance to promote the release of Pirates. Seeing potential, Jesse Jane told her that she had everything it takes to be a porn star. Riley took a business card and pondered making her fantasy a reality. Signing with the top adult film agency in the world, Digital Playground, Riley had the pleasure of meeting Jesse Jane again. This time, it was on the set of the highly anticipated Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge, where they would be porn stars co-stars. Recently, Riley has been getting attention because she was cast in the forthcoming Piranha 3-D, by acclaimed director Alexandre Aj. I had the chance to talk to Riley about a working on the film and her time at Digital Playground.
Steve Gustafson: Hi Riley! How you got into the adult film industry is pretty well known. You met Jesse Jane at a Pirates appearance, she gave you a card, and you called and were signed with Digital Playground soon after. It’s the stuff of dreams! Before meeting Jesse, what were your plans? What might have been?
Riley Steele: I had always wanted to be a sex symbol and express myself using my sexuality. I loved porn, so it was a natural decision for me.
Steve Gustafson: And millions of fans worldwide are glad it was. Your first work was in Pirates 2: Stagnetti’s Revenge, quite an introduction. How was that experience, to be in the largest production in adult film history?
Riley Steele: It was amazing to work on Pirates II for my first movie. When I signed, they were getting ready to start shooting it, so I was still so brand new to the industry. I’m really lucky and proud to have been a part of history in adult entertainment.
Steve Gustafson: Indeed. Do you think people have any misconceptions when they meet you?
Riley Steele: Maybe a few people. There have been some people who can be so rude and think they should be able to talk to me a certain way just because I’m a Porn Star. But we are still people, and everyone should be treated with respect.
Steve Gustafson: Great words that everyone should remember! What have been the personal highlights for you since getting signed with Digital Playground?
Riley Steele: Pirates II was definitely one of them. Then there is also the time I was on stage dancing for Kid Rock with Jesse Jane for over over 45 thousand people screaming their heads off. That was the best moment of my life. I’ll never forget it.
Steve Gustafson: (Laughs) Nice! When you girls do appearances together at conventions, do you have any entertaining travel stories?
Riley Steele: There are so many of them; there’s always something that happens. We have a really fun travel group. We just got back from Alaska yesterday, and I’m exhausted. Jess and I did everything we could do, including visiting the strip clubs and dancing on stage…we made money too! (Laughs) One of the best though, is that we found out about hotel where everything was made out of ice. We shot some racy content. We were naked all over the place, while trying to hide it from the people working in there cutting and sculpting ice. It was great!
Steve Gustafson: (Laughs) Whoa! If they only knew!
Piranha 3-D is an upcoming 2010 3D horror film release to be directed by Alexandre Aja. It’s a remake of the 1978 film Piranha, with a script written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan of the Feast and Saw series. The plot involves an underwater tremor that sets free scores of prehistoric man-eating fish in a tourist-friendly lake, forcing a group of strangers to band together to battle the razor-toothed piranhas. The film also stars Elisabeth Shue, Ving Rhames, Richard Dreyfuss, Christopher Lloyd, Jerry O’Connell, and Eli Roth.
Steve Gustafson: You’re making headlines with your role in Piranha 3D. How did your involvement in the movie come about?
Riley Steele: Digital Playground sent me out on the audition. I totally thought I blew it, but I got the second audition and then next thing I knew I was getting my head molded for my prosthetic head in the movie. It’s crazy how quick things went.
Steve Gustafson: Wow. Hollywood movies fast. What can you tell us about your character in the film?
Riley Steele: I play Crystal. She’s a California-girl, just out for a good time. She is a Wild Wild Girl, like Girls Gone Wild, for Derrik played by Jerry O’Connell, with her best friend Danni, played by Kelly Brook. We try to corrupt innocent girls on spring break.
Steve Gustafson: Sounds good to me! Did you do any preparation or training for your role?
Riley Steele: Yes, I did so much swim training! My friend Alex was my instructor. We became good friends on set. Before training, I could barley hold my breath underwater, let alone swim dolphin style with my eyes open and a sexy look on my face. (Laughs) They took a lot of video of us, and the first ones are pretty funny looking, so I hope no one else ever sees them.
Steve Gustafson: I’ll be watching for those outtakes on the DVD. Any interesting stories from the set?
Riley Steele: I had the cops called on me for having too loud of sex at the hotel.
Steve Gustafson: (Laughs) What? Working even when the camera is off! The film has quite a star-studded cast. You got to work with Jerry O’Connell, Jessica Szohr, Kelly Brook, and Steven R. McQueen. How did they treat you on set?
Riley Steele: Everyone is really nice. We got really luck because no one had any egos. You eat 3 meals a day with these people and you’re on set all day together, so you kind of become a little family.
Steve Gustafson: That’s cool. Have you had any acting classes in the past? How did you prepare?
Riley Steele: I took a couple in San Diego when I was about 16. The role I play is very similar to me in real life, so it wasn’t too far of a stretch.
Steve Gustafson: Right on. Did any of your co-stars have any advice for you?
Riley Steele: I learned a lot from watching them. Jerry and Paul are both so good at improv. They should have their own show.
Steve Gustafson: I never would have thought that. Did any of them come up to you and ask about your career in the adult
Riley Steele: Yeah, they all had questions. I think a lot of people are interested in our business. I think everyone wonders what it’s like to be a Porn Star.
Steve Gustafson: Of course! Alexandre Aja is directing the film. What is it like working with him?
Riley Steele: He is great, so nice and sweet, and very quiet. He was so down-to-earth too. Alex would go out to Chili’s with us sometimes.
Steve Gustafson: Chili’s! Awesome! Do you have any future mainstream movie gigs coming up?
Riley Steele: Not currently, but I’m open to try anything. I’m hoping things will pick up when Piranha 3-D comes out.
Steve Gustafson: I have a feeling you’ll be getting some calls. What’s next for you at Digital Playground?
Riley Steele: We are starting up our tour for Teachers now, and then we have the AVN award show in January. I might be nominated for some awards!
Steve Gustafson: What? I might have to do a follow up come January. Good luck! Do you have any ambition to get behind the camera and direct someday?
Riley Steele: I never really had before, but I’m starting to. I love telling my fantasies to Robby, one of our directors, and then think about the set, colors, talent, clothes, and how it will be shot. So, maybe one day.
Steve Gustafson: You’ll be unstoppable!
Steve Gustafson: Here are some quick and easy ones for you! What do you do for fun?
Riley Steele: I love to workout, shop, go out to dinner, go to the beach and get Pinkberry frozen yogurt!
Steve Gustafson: Who doesn’t love Pinkberry? Do you have any plans on doing any feature dancing?
Riley Steele: I cant wait to start!! I’m really hoping I can next year.
Steve Gustafson: I’m, I mean, We are all hoping too! Which celebrities would you like to see make the crossover to adult film?
Riley Steele: David Beckham, Mark Walhberg and Marissa Miller.
Steve Gustafson: Now that’s a group! What’s the last movie you saw in the theater?
Riley Steele: It’s been forever since I’ve been to the movies. I honestly cant even remember. I think it was the on-screen premiere of Pirates II in the LA theater district! (Laughs)
Steve Gustafson: Whoa! That’s crazy. But cool. Do you have time to watch TV? What do you watch?
Riley Steele: I love TV. I’m glued to E! I love The Girls Next Door and Meet the Kardashian. Chelsea Handler is hilarious! I love her
Steve Gustafson: (Laughs) To give the readers a little background. I’ve peeped a few interviews with you and you walk about not having a couch in your place yet. I have to ask, for myself, have you gotten a couch yet?
Riley Steele: No! (Laughs) I just saw one yesterday for real cheap at the mall, so I might get that one. (Laughs)
Steve Gustafson: Alright, if you are reading this and own a furniture store…Riley needs a couch! Hey, thanks for taking time out of your schedule and speaking with me. Good luck and much, much continued success!
Riley Steele: Thank you! Gooo Esco! (Laughs)
Sorry folks, that last line is an inside joke between us!
