QUEENSBURY, N.Y. — from www.wptz.com – A longtime girl’s basketball coach at Holy Name School in Ausable Forks pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges accusing her of giving alcohol to a teenage boy and having sex with him.
Joey Strong, 35, of Ausable Forks, faces felony third-degree rape and misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and first-degree unlawful dealing with a child in connection with the alleged tryst, which police said took place at a Queensbury hotel in March, according to court documents obtained by WPTZ.com.
The woman had coached girls basketball as a volunteer for eight years at the school, but was not an employee at the school.
On March 30, Strong allegedly brought Coors Light beer to several underage people at the Comfort Suites, police said, and had sex with the boy that night.
She appeared in Warren County court Wednesday to enter her plea. She was released on her own recognizance with multiple conditions set on her release.
She cannot have contact with the boy and must remain in her home from 9 p.m. To 7 a.m. Strong must refrain from using drugs and alcohol and was ordered to submit to drug treatment and random drug and alcohol tests, among other things.
