“Porn Producers Should be Protected From Losing Their Investment to Websites Who Give It Away”

Sandy Bunz of Femme Fatale Pictures writes: Giving away hardcore porn on the internet is un-controlled.

Websites which have hardcore web content displayed for free are fueling the erosion of a very creative and innovative industry on our planet. It totally astounds me how the largest producers of the dvd business are sitting by watching while the movie industry may be following that of the music industry.

Some music artists banded together to try and stop music downloads to no avail.

Adult dvd’s are regulated by the government to sell my product only to those over the age of consent such as tobacco, liquor and automobiles are sold. Although society does not legislate against the viewing of hardcore content on the internet for free.

It has always been my theory that the PC computer industry’s sales are fueled by the free porn on the internet. Is it that the hardcore content helps to sell PC computers or is it that the adult dvd industry is blindsided by the internet. Free hardcore content is viewed by persons of all ages on the internet.

Why are those of us who produce dvd’s held to a higher standard than the internet. We in the hardcore dvd business are required to sell product to those over eighteen. The internet is full of hardcore content being viewed by minors under the age of consent. Lots of bad social and psychological problems in children are being created by the access to the free unregulated hardcore porn.

I believe that the internet must be controlled for the age of consent to be applied across the board on the internet, for the betterment of society. Hardcore pornography is a costly item to produce and those who do so should be protected from losing their investment by websites which give it away to sell memberships in dating sites or pornsites.

The largest booths at the AVN show this year were those of companies which uses free hardcore high quality content on their sites to lure websurfers to join their sites. Likewise hardcore content is used by various supposed dating sites, a total fraudulent con, to make a viewer into believe there is a gal in his neighborhood spreading her legs and posting it on a dating website.

I truly believe the situation is severe. If the industry does not go at the government and put a stop to the free hardcore content on the internet, our dvd market will evaporate.

I have a store in Chatsworth and have noticed the age demographic which come in the store. The median age of buyers of the dvds is about 40. The store is truly void of individuals between the ages of 18 and 30. At golf courses where I play, I have asked golfers of the 18 to 35 group if they buy dvds. The vast majority of golfers I have asked say they watch free hardcore porn on the internet and why buy dvds.

Our industry can not afford to have that big portion of the population not viewing our products and opting for the free internet variety.

To get back these voyeurs and protect children from hardcore porn is a noble task. I believe the industry will have to pursue an Act of Congress. The government of the United States should be lobbied by the adult industry, retailers included, to make a Childrens Internet Protection Act. After such an act is enacted the United Nations should be approached to make it illegal for free hardcore porn to be seen by anyone who does not pay for it.
