Thoughts Over The Evening’s Sake: Why is There Little or No HIV in Japanese Porn?

The law of averages is finally catching up to the porn industry. The way the industry tests, the way the industry ignores protocols and the way American porn performers copulate off camera, you’d think we’d have a South Africa on our hands. But we’ve been lucky so far even with three hits in the last couple of weeks, and that got me thinking about the Japanese porn industry.

HIV hit Japan in 1992, and though Japan’s HIV infections have continued to increase, HIV is still primarily confined to gay and bisexual men. And what HIV cases occur are brought in by foreigners.

You hear nothing about HIV or STDs in the Japanese porn community, and that’s pretty significant considering the fact that the Japanese porn industry is nearly twice the size of its American counterpart. At last count there was something like 4,000 female performers and maybe like 70 guys.

From what I’ve seen, tube sites must make free porn a large issue in Japan, but their industry doesn’t seem to have a problem selling its product, and a female Japanese porn performer gets paid something like $10,000 for doing a movie. For the most part, movies in Japan feature a headline female performer and she appears throughout the movie in a storyline that runs anywhere from 90 minutes on up.

Once I discovered Japanese porn and the fact that everyone on camera seems to be bright, happy, cheerful and enthusiastic, I found little use for the American product. Plus, the women know how to dress tastefully and sexy. Blame American porn agents for the fact that our product is pitiful in that regard.

Getting back to the HIV issue. Japan must be doing something right as to make STDs a non-factor, and wouldn’t it have dawned on someone in our business maybe to have taken a closer look at how Japan does it?

Oh, Diane Duke. What was I thinking.

  1. Most likely because the homos don’t crossover and the guys are actually straight. Could be based on other things as well.

      1. There are Crossover Faggots in the Japanese Porn Industry but their number ids very low and they retire earlier than in US or Europe.

        1. I don’t know of any crossovers in Japan except the tranny fuckers that I mentioned. Then again, actors in Japan aren’t well know except a handful or two.

          1. I know that but there are a lot of Gay-for-pay-Actors in Japan too but they retire mostly after 1-2 years.
