Ever since I got an email in April from Stuart Lawley and the .XXX boys about the possibility of their advertising on AdultFYI www.adultcybermart.com/StoryStuartLawleyXXXAd.html I’ve been waiting to see who in the adult industry would be sucking up to them.
Now that the first turncoat, Casting.xxx has been outed, it’ll be even more interesting to watch developments and the choosing of sides. The Free Speech Coalition has made their stance against .XXX very clear.
But YNOT,possibly living up to their name, entertained the presence of Lawley PR flak Vaughn Liley at their recent summit in San Francisco for songs, dances and snappy patter. [Liley, from all reports, did not impress anyone with his roadshow.
Exxxotica then ruffled a few feathers when they made it known that the .XXX boys would be promoting and selling their wares at the Florida show. I don’t know if the same held true in Chicago, and that .XXX was even invited.
Then, when former AVN sales manager Chris Lebrun, went over to the dark side to sell .XXX domains,it appeared to be some tacit endorsement from AVN especially when AVN wrote a story about the fact and gave it a “when you’re in the neighborhood see Chris for a good deal” spin.
Not correct, says new owner Theo Sapoutzis [pictured].
“We haven’t allowed them [.XXX] to advertise in any of our properties and we’ll continue doing so.”
We’d also like to hear XBiz’s Alec Helmy make that same promise. Just so that we can all sleep at night
