Show of hands. Who remembers Walt Disney’s Davy Crockett miniseries?

Fans agree, hands down, the best episode of the five [we’re including the two Mike Fink tales] is when Davy [Fess Parker] goes to the Alamo. The fact that he doesn’t come back, kind of shortened the scope of the miniseries and, hence, the Mike Fink back stories went into production to satisfy Crockett fans who were Jonesing for more action.
