Actor Ewan McGregor said today he was disappointed that American cinema-goers will not be able to see his full frontal nude shot in his new movie.
Film company Sony Classics decided to cut the scene from the American release of the forthcoming movie Young Adam.
The scene will remain uncut in Britain.
But the Star Wars actor asked why his nudity was deemed so offensive when Hollywood rarely censors graphic violence.
“If you want to see my penis, you’ll have to fly to Britain,” McGregor, 32, told Premiere magazine.
“If I’d blown away 5,000 people with a semiautomatic machine gun, that would be fine. But I showed my penis.”
McGregor who was born in Crieff, Perthshire, added: “It does amuse me, the horrific violence that comes out of American cinema. But someone’s **** is too much.”
McGregor has already flashed the flesh in the movie that helped shoot him to fame, Trainspotting.
Gene sez: McGregor didn’t sound nearly as liberal when, at the beginning of the year, he was being interviewed by an L.A. oldies station and the question was asked about some alleged hanky panky on the set of Down with Love- the cinematic turd that McGregor stars in along with Renee Zellweger. McGregor hung up on the station.
