Emily Oberg, the entrepreneur known for her clothing label Sporty & Rich, has launched Sensual Sport, a new line of sexual wellness products. The brand debuted this week with three tangerine-toned products, entering a market projected to reach $20 billion by 2030.

Sensual Sport's Inaugural Offerings

Sensual Sport launched with three products, all priced under $100. These include The Essential Vibrator, an elongated, egg-shaped sex toy; Pleasure Gel, a hyaluronic acid-infused lubricant; and Wet Mouth Spray, designed to enhance oral pleasure. The Wet Mouth Spray is available in pineapple, watermelon, and peach flavors.

Oberg stated that she started with three products to avoid intimidating individuals who may not have previously purchased such items. She described The Essential Vibrator as "straightforward" and Pleasure Gel as "a universal product." Oberg expressed particular excitement for the mouth spray, noting, "I wanted one fun, unique product," and adding, "And it's all in my stance that sex shouldn't be taken so seriously."

The launch of Sensual Sport follows Oberg's previous ventures, including Sporty & Rich, which generated $34 million in revenue last year. Oberg indicated that she creates products she is personally interested in using, which she feels she cannot find until she makes them. Her current focus is sexual wellness.

The development of Sensual Sport took six months from start to finish. This expedited timeline was partly due to a personal connection: a friend's husband works for one of the largest sex toy manufacturers in the United States. This connection provided Oberg with a comprehensive overview of the market, including best-sellers and areas for improvement. She stated, "It was a full run-through of the market—what was out there, the best-sellers, what's not working."

The sexual wellness market in the United States was valued at $11 billion in 2022 and is forecast to reach $20 billion by 2030. Oberg filed a trademark application for Sensual Sport on May 16, covering products such as supplements, sex toys, bags, jewelry, essential oils for personal use, clothing (underwear), and entertainment and educational services. The application is currently live and pending.

Oberg's Solo Venture and Marketing Approach

Sensual Sport operates as a solo venture for Oberg. She built the brand's website, designed its packaging, and manages shipping logistics and newsletters. Oberg also appeared in the brand's initial marketing campaign. She noted that agents are often reluctant to associate models with a sex brand, stating, "Agents just don't want [models] associated with a sex brand," and adding, "Which is funny because everyone is half-naked on Instagram! I'll continue to model for it until people can wrap their heads around what we're doing."

Oberg's career began in fashion, working in retail at age 14 in Calgary, Canada. She later moved to Vancouver at 18 to complete a one-year fashion program. She subsequently held positions at Complex and Kith before deciding to focus on Sporty & Rich full-time, stating she realized she was "building someone else's dream."
