Fired Jailer Who Posed for Playboy.com Now Working at Hooters; Gina Rodriguez Was Her Agent

You need an agnet to work at Hooters?

from www.aolnews.com – Jessie Lunderby was just one of a host of people who momentarily grabbed the spotlight in 2010 and dominated a news cycle or two while getting their 15 minutes of fame. In this series, AOL News is checking in on 25 of these newsmakers and giving them a 16th minute.

Jessie Lunderby Made News in 2010 When She: Was fired from her job as a detention officer at an Arkansas jail for posing nude on Playboy.com. (She also made news for looking good doing it.)

The Full Story: The 21-year-old jailer was forced to hand over her handcuffs this summer when her bosses discovered she had posed nude as Playboy.com’s “Cyber Girl of the Week” in June. The Washington County, Ark., sheriff — who put Lunderby on administrative leave for more than two weeks before he determined which departmental rules she had violated — eventually fired Lunderby and said the nude photos were distracting and would “generate much interest among the detainees in our public jail.”

By that time, though, Lunderby had become an Internet sensation, had gained a Hollywood agent and was fielding movie offers.

“Their plan backfired,” Lunderby told AOL News back in July. “At first, I was like, ‘I’m going to sue the pants off them.’ But now, I don’t have time for them. I’m kind of busy now.”

Lunderby’s agent, Gina Rodriguez of DD Entertainment, said she was planning big things for the blond jailer. “She’s beautiful, she’s smart, she sings,” Rodriguez told AOL News by phone this summer. “She’ll do really well.”

What’s Happened Since? Lunderby is working at an Arkansas Hooters and Rodriguez says she is no longer representing the former detention officer.

“Most of the things we would book were in [Los Angeles] and it was hard for her to get to them,” Rodriguez said this week.

“We really couldn’t do much for her, so we moved on.”

But for Lunderby, the fun fallout from her Playboy photo shoot has continued. The Arkansas native has since been picked up by GC Marketing, another publicity firm, and has continued to work with Playboy. On her company profile, Lunderby says she likes her new gig.

“There isn’t an event that I’ve worked for them that I didn’t leave happy,” she said of Playboy.

In Her Own Words: “I’m working at Hooters and I love it,” Lunderby said this week when reached by phone. “Everything is going well.”
