Getting Down and Dirty With Chicago SEXCON’s Larry Goon

from www.luminomagazine.com – As one of the biggest cities in the world Chicago is well known as a party town. But what happens when it goes all out in a no-holds-bar night of hedonistic fun? Just ask Larry Goon, founder of the Chicago Sexcon.

Full of energy Goon is the kind of man that was born to be an entrepreneur. As the founder of BornABabe.com Goon makes a living promoting non-nude models all over the Chicagoland area. Three years ago Goon had the idea to bring everyone together under one roof, thus the Chicago Sexcon (previously known as the Chicago Sexpo) was born.

Lumino got the chance to sit down with Goon to discuss all the dirty details of the Chicago Sex Convention.

Do you have any advice for first timers?

Strap your seat belts on kids. Put your parents to bed and come and enjoy this show, there’s nothing like this in the world. There are other expos but those are all done in convention centers. Excalibur is a phenomenal club to begin with and Vision is a phenomenal club so the two of them together in one of the most landmark buildings in Chicago is perfect. A lot of people from out of town will come there, you known, but a lot of the locals won’t. This night they’ll all be there.

I remember last year seeing all these girls in lingerie and they’re walking across the street in panties and bras and stuff. Because the first year was cool, last year was overwhelming and this year is going to be out of control.

What’s the wildest experience you’ve had the convention?

Having to be the embassy for the three-ring circus and seeing my favorite porn stars. Because even though I’m a non-nude type of guy and I love bikinis and all that I still think clothing is sexier than nude.

So one of the wildest things is to see these girls that I see on videos and give them an opportunity to let them blow off steam and party. If they do events similar they are working here they get to let loose. We get them on stage. Last year Sadie West was getting on stage and pouring drinks all over her and dancing with no underwear on. We’re supposed to be non-nude but there’s only so much you can control.

How did you get involved in the industry?

I’ve always been an appreciator of the female form. I remember I used to come home and give my wife lingerie and she’d put on a show for me. After I got divorced I remember thinking, what am I going to do with my life? When I was a kid I would take these images of girls and post them on my wall. Then I would take a razor blade and cut out the images around the girl so only the model remained. It took me thirty years but I’m finally making a living doing what I love. You saw the stickers I showed you, we have full size wall graphics for sale on our site.

I started out making the Rainbow Vibe, which is the most incredible vibrator on the planet. And I started to go to Las Vegas and Los Angeles to show this product at the events and every single company and every single girl that looked at it they were like “I’ll take one!” so I knew I was on to something.

And at the shows in LA and Vegas I met a lot of porn production companies. They asked me to come out with the toys and supply them the toys for their videos. After doing that a couple of times I was on set with Vivid and one of the producers for Vivid, which is one of the biggest names in the industry, asked me directly to be in porn. And I said yes. Because, you know, I didn’t want my story to be “and I said no.”

You don’t get chances like that. This is Vivid Video asking a guy off the street to be in porn. That’s like starting at the top. There’s been guys who have been in the porn industry for five years and they would sell their left nut just to be in front of Shishi Larue or Paul Thomas. They flew me back two weeks later and I did my first porn.

I did a few more and I realized that the Rainbow Vibe was battling for my time with BornABabe.com. It started because we were shooting photos for the cover of the box and when I showed the pictures to my friends they’re jaws dropped. That’s when I knew we had something.

To get a deeper look inside the adult entertainment industry check out the third annual Chicago Sexcon on April 28th at Excalibur.
