from www.wishtv.com – A teacher at a Randolph County school has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student at her school.

On Saturday, a father contacted the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department to complain that his 17-year-old son was having a sexual relationship with a teacher at Greater Randolph Interlocal Cooperative, a vocational/technical school, Shannon J. Woodson, 36, Farmland, the sheriff’s department said.

When asked, officers said, the teen told them he had been in a sexual relationship with Woodson throughout the summer, and had also used marijuana and drunk alcohol with her at her apartment. Officers also said Woodson admitted to the sexual relationship and the drug use.

Woodson was arrested Wednesday and charged with of child seduction, a Class D felony. She could face a possible sentence of 6 months to 3 years and a possible fine of up to $10,000.
