Porn Valley- I had a phone chat with Mark from OSK Productions in Canada. Seems that he and Dane, his former distributor, had a falling out- something about Dane claiming OSK was overpaid and now Dane won't give them back their product. [Sound familiar to the Club Summer Haze opera?]

On top of that, Mark discovers that Dane has cut unauthorized VOD deals [allegedly] of his product. Marks says he had a year's contract with Dane but even before the contract was over, he was convinced they weren't the company to deal with.

"We stuck it out for the full year to live up to our end of the agreement," Mark says. "At the time we started with Dane they had William and Dave of the Nasty Boyz- so they had quite the sales force. Then once we were into our agreement, he had no sales force. They weren't selling our product. And then we get little checks here and there. Then late last year he put some of our videos to catalogue without our permission. And now they're $2 bucks out there.

"Our contract ended the beginning of December," Mark goes on to say. "But he apparently he's selling our titles out there. I've been on the Internet the last few days. I just noticed all along he's been also selling our videos on VOD platforms. And that wasn't in the licensing agreement. Our movies have been showing up on Hot Movies, AEBN, Adult Rental and there's a couple of others out there as well.

"And all Dane had the license for was to distribute DVDs in the US," Mark adds.

According to Mark, he met Bob from Dane at an industry party in 2005.

"They were looking for somebody to come with them to the AVN show and take a booth. So we had to pay Ed $2,000 to stand at the booth."

"Was it the fact that your contract just ended or were you saying this isn't working any more?"

"Probably a combination of that," says Mark. "We were losing money because our titles weren't being distributed. Plus we weren't getting paid or it. Overall we got a couple of thousand dollars from Ed. That was for five titles. Our agreement said it was a year contract which ended December 12. So we lived right up to the end of the agreement and advised them a month ahead of time that we were going to terminate the relationship."

According to Mark, OSK was also told by Dane that Dane may have overpaid them.

"Dana sent me an e-mail the other day." In the e-mail Mark says he was told that until the matter would be resolved, Dane wasn't going to return his product.

"And they told me a couple of weeks ago it would be," Mark states. "I don't know why he's holding my product ransome."

Mark said another one of the problems is distance and if there's a problem it's "a major expedition" to have things resolved.
