Van Nuys/Hollywood, CA – He may look like a hard-ass but it turns out Matt Zane can be a softie when he wants to be!

Start the screaming now, lady Matt-lovers: the alt-porn godfather has donated more than 17 inches of his trademark hair to the non-profit organization children’s group, Locks Of Love.

Locks Of Love is a Florida-based charity that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from a number of diagnoses. The nationwide organization meets a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics (wigs and ponytails) for kids who have lost their hair. The mission of Locks of Love is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss.

“People have identified me for my long hair for years. Recently, I felt like I’ve entered a new chapter in my life and wanted to let go of certain expectations that people had. I was told about Locks Of Love and I thought it was a great idea.”

Sure, he’s known as a perfectionist, renown porn director and a metal rocker… but even Matt has a softer side. In the end, his good deed will benefit kids, and that brings a smile to his face. “Considering all the hate mail I will get from girls on MySpace, I’m glad some good can come of this,” says Zane.

Plus, in honor of Zane’s goodwill, Evolution Distribution is putting the entire Matt Zane Catalog on sale, and will donate a portion of the month of May’s profits (from Matt Zane Productions sales) to Locks of Love, up to $500.

Zane’s latest movie, Radium Volume #2, (to be distributed by Evolution Distribution, www.evolutiondist.com) comes out in May.
