from www.laweekly.com – The porn industry has had a rough five years, from an online migration of content that has pirated its products to a drive in its hometown of L.A. to require condoms on-set.

Now a conservative group wants to cut off one of adult media’s key constituencies — the military:

The organization, Morality in Media, says it applauds the Navy’s move last week to ban porn from its workplaces and even its on-base convenience stores, known as exchanges.

The wing of the military was reacting to its record of excessive sexual assaults.

Now Morality in Media says its time for the rest of the United States Armed Forces to follow suit.

In a statement sent out over the weekend it says:

… We have called on Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel [pictured] to stop the sale of pornography in military exchanges. Pornography is exploitative and demeaning and has no place in the U. S. Military, especially in light of our military’s current sexual exploitation crisis.

The group suggests there’s a link between horny guys and sexual assaults.

It also wants the entire military to ban porn at exchanges and even to “prohibit access to pornography by electronic devices on military bases worldwide.”

The organization is lobbying congress to put pressure on Hagel.

This is a huge demographic for the L.A.-based smut industry. We wonder how it will respond.
