Rob Ragan Plans to Fight Ordinance Barring Strip and Lingerie Shows

OXFORD, Maine from www.wmtw.com– There is a new ordinance regulating sexually oriented businesses in the town of Oxford.

The Board of Selectmen approved the ordinance in a unanimous vote during a special meeting Thursday night.

The ordinance was in response to an application for the store Sexy Secrets on Route 26.

Sexy Secret’s owner, Robert Ragan www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=45484, indicated he was interested in having stripping and lingerie shows.

Town Manager Michael Chammings said while they are not interested in suppressing people’s First Amendment Rights, secondary effects such as prostitution and lewdness spring up from sexually oriented businesses, which caused problems for communities.

Ragan, told News 8 he plans to fight the ordinance.
