Houston – from www.houstonpress.com – A South Texas county constable election turned smutty last week when one candidate texted his opponent several graphic images of “she-male porn.”
Cameron County Precinct 4 Constable Robert Lopez was on the receiving end of the chicks with dicks images sent by electoral foe Joe Rodriguez, police chief of the town of Primera. Lopez expressed his disgust and outrage to Valleycentral.com:
“I want people to know I don’t deal with pornographic stuff on my phone… That is wrong… This is a county phone… And I would never,” he said. He even filed a police report for harassment. He says it was all a set-up — that his opponent was hoping that the smut would only come to light after some ambitious reporter did an open records request on his phone and found the porn there. (If that was in fact Rodriguez’s scheme, the guy is a nitwit. Wouldn’t that same revelation also uncover the fact that he had sent the porn?)
Rodriguez says it was all a mistake, a misdial. He explained that he had intended to send the porn to his cousin.
He also says the whole thing is just hardball politics, Rio Grande Valley-style.
This is not Chief Rodriguez’s first porn rodeo. Four years ago he was fired from his position as a cop in the Rio Hondo ISD after he was found to be ogling porn on school computers.
So far no charges have been filed against the chief. The commenters on Valleycentral.com have some interesting things to say about Lopez, nuggets which could lead a reasonable person to check the box marked “other” come election time should these two guys be the only names on the ballot.
