Porn Valley- Sunny Lane, who has her own Wednesday night show on KSEX, visited PrimeTimeUncensored, www.primetimeuncensored.com, Monday night. But there was no exchange of insider information, spy codes or secret handshakes.
Lane was on together with publicist Jeff Mullen and Renae Cruz from Gold Star Modeling, www.goldstarmodeling.com, to promote Cruz's upcoming J-Ho movie for Adam & Eve Pictures/X-Play.
James Bartholet, who hosted the show, was saying off camera the reason Lynn LeMay no-showed a couple of weeks ago was for reasons medically serious. Apparently LeMay was rushed to the hospital for oral surgery on a wisdom tooth and that information was supposed to have been conveyed to Bartholet but wasn't. In another off camera conversation, Bartholet's telling someone about these two porn chicks who came to his house earlier in the day begging for money.
Mullen, who attended the Adultcon show Saturday night, said he had a blast if not winding up a little bit loaded. For that reason, Mullen walked back to his office on Hollywood & Vine from the Sunset Strip.
"At that time of the night it's great," he said. "You see guns, people puking and having sex." Male performer Justin Long, who got into the business in 1998, left for awhile then came back in 2005, is talking about how he had a scene with Cruz and "flailed" because of some pork he ate from Panda Express which gave him gas.
Sunny Lane, who's wearing a green summer dress that leaves nothing to the imagination, tells me she's named her tits Momma and Mia.
Those were the most colorful soundbites and the show hadn't even started.
During the show, Mullen, who uses the porn de plumme Will Ryder when he's directing, is explaining how he shot Lane for a Hustler movie, Barely Legal Auditions- a spoof of sorts on American Idol.
"I got to play a judge," says Lane. Mullen/Ryder explained how his directorial work was right up there with Hitchcock. Except he didn't say which Hitchcock.
Mullen went on to say that Paulina James, who just signed an exclusive contract with SexZ Pictures, was also in the movie. Mullen described James as a cross between Sally Field and Audrey Hepburn.
Bartholet, who was also in the movie, lavished praise on Lane saying there was no other actress he enjoys working with more.
"She's such a professional and so versatile." Bartholet said he heard a rumor that Lane abstains from sex when she's got a role scheduled so that she could put all her energy into her scenes. Lane wasn't answering yes or no except to say, "I do get my kicks off camera."
Asked the ongoing question about his background before he got into porn, Mullen blew some dust off of old resumes and talked a bit about his career as a musician.
"Women are not hard to find when you're a musician," said Mullen, making it sound like they were even easier to find when you're in porn. Thinking, as others, that porn was a way to quick riches, Mullen admitted he lost his ass on his first attempt at shooting a porn movie.
"Then my partner went his way, and I went mine," he said. Mullen then hooked up with New Sensations, confessing that he talked a good game and bullshitted his way into a job. He never went back to the music career.
"I got introduced to porn chicks and, as a man, it's impossible not to appreciate that."
Mullen then played a clip from Not the Bradys XXX, a Brandy Bunch knock off with Hillary Scott playing Marcia and Alana Evans way too convincing as a Mrs. Brady. The plot has something to do with Marcia, in an attempt to earn money, taking a modeling job only to discover it's porn.
"It's a very detailed plot- much like The Pelican Brief," quipped Mullen who said the movie would be Hustler's big push in September.
Bartholet brought up some of the recent articles that have been written about the industry, particularly those which have appeared in the LA Daily News.
"Everybody gets excited when the mainstream comes around," said Mullen. "The truth of the matter, as enticing as it is, they're only out there to bite our ass." Referring to Sunny Lane's recent portrayal by ABC TV, Mullen said, "Sunny's got a normal life- the good story is to take it out of context. They never want to portray the industry as it is."
"They only win if they create controversy and tension," added Mullen referring to the LA Daily News piece on the dangers of HIV in the business.
"The truth is we really do regulate and I'd rather take my chances with a porn girl." Mullen also pointed out how on the shoots of companies still claiming the condom-only policy, performers remove the condoms off camera in order to be sexually stimulated.
Nevertheless, Lane said she can't wait to get tested because a fresh bill of health only means she can have more fun. Lane also announced that she was now feature dancing and was repped by the Lee Network. She will be in Long Island, New York in July followed by trips to New Jersey, Philly and Ohio.
For his part, Bartholet said he got pissed off when on the Geraldo show they started taking pot shots at Lane's family. Lane said she was well aware of the intent when she went into these interviews.
"I had lawyers, managers and publicists involved," she said. Beyond that, said Mullen, the recognition was huge for Lane in terms of traffic. Lane also recalled being on the Mancow show where some woman attacked her as being a whore.
Unlike a whore, Lane then raised her dress and displayed the ass that earned her a FAME awards nomination this year.
"This is Sunny's year," Mullen predicted. "She has been at the top echelon of girls." Lane, who was in Canada over the weekend for a Sexpo, and thus missed the Adultcon Awards, said she had a USA Today interview coming out.
On the issue of the J-Ho movie, Mullen acknowledged that Jasmine Byrne originally had the role but never went into the whys or wherefores of her being dumped, save to say that the movie was a policitcal satire. In the movie, Lane plays a lobbyist and Mullen said they'd be shooting in Washington D.C. and that Bo Kenney offered the use of his yacht.
"We're going to have sex sequences, floating down the Potomic with all the monuments in the background," Mullen laughed.
"J-Ho [Renae Cruz]holds world peace in the palm of her hand," Mullen continued. "She has to give a concert to save the world from terrorists."
Mullen said when he first explained the concept to Cruz her initial reaction was a bewildered, what-the-fuck one. As for her ability to dance, Mullen ventured to say that Cruz could blow away Jennifer Lopez.
Bartholet asked if she could sing as well.
"In the shower and in the car," Cruz replied.
Mullen explained that the J-Ho movie would have to be done, finished and delivered July 31st.
"It's become this colossus."
Bartholet thought that Cruz was one the hottest Latin stars currently working in the business. And Cruz mentioned that she also has a mainstream film role coming up but couldn't talk about it. Bartholet, who has a bar concession operating during the course of his show, then offered Cruz a drink. She refused claiming she doesn't imbibe.
"But she's addicted to crack," Mullen laughed, remembering the first time he met Cruz. He was taking her to catch a plane and she was wearing something that resembled pajamas.
"I didn't know whether to take her to the aiport or drop her off at school."
Making his appearance later in the program, Justin Long said he'd be going to Japan to work for several directors.
"Jap girls love the brothers," Mullen added. Long said he loved going there because they treat him really well.
