MONESSEN, Pennsylvania [www.pittsburghlive.com] – A Monessen High School art teacher doesn’t like the way he was painted after appearing on an adult-content satellite radio show last week.

However, the show’s host says Jaison Biagini was a willing participant after winning a date with Internet porn star Akira. [www.akiranyc.com]

Biagini, a 14-year teacher in the district, won an all-expenses-paid trip to Tampa, Fla., after entering a contest sponsored by the “Bubba the Love Sponge” satellite radio show.

The show appears daily on Sirius satellite radio, a subscription-only radio service that is not regulated by the Federal Communications Commission.

Biagini says he entered the contest for a chance to win a free trip, have fun and visit the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Fla.

He described his date with Akira as “all fake and staged.”

“Everything was pretend,” he said.

But when Biagini returned home from the trip, the teacher claimed he was depicted in an offensive way and ridiculed for being handicapped. The Web site also stated it would be showing a video clip of Biagini’s “date” with Akira.

“I was severely offended when I realized how I was being portrayed,” Biagini said.

However, in a recording of Monday’s broadcast of the “Bubba the Love Sponge” show, in which the show’s hosts talked about the date involving Biagini, they contend he knew the nature of the contest and, purportedly, e-mailed them when he wasn’t originally chosen to win the contest.

“He fired off all of these e-mails wanting to know why he wasn’t picked,” the show’s host stated. They also claimed Biagini was “less than a gentleman” on the date.

Biagini admits he participated in some “stupid stuff” on the date, and is concerned about his job as a teacher.

“I really just thought it would be a chance to go somewhere for free,” he said.

Neither Monessen School District Superintendent Dr. Cynthia Chelen, nor board President Marilyn Pivarnik would comment on the situation, noting it is a personnel issue.

According to the state Public School Code, a teacher can be terminated for such reasons as “immorality, incompetency, cruelty, persistent negligence, mental derangement, advocation of, or participating in un-American or subversive doctrines and persistent and willful violation of the school laws of the state.”

Biagini said he called the radio show’s producers on Monday to express his dismay.

The show’s hosts in the Monday broadcast also said Biagini called producers yesterday “begging for mercy,” and pleading with them not to release video clips of the date because he is a teacher, according to audio from the show.

A host on the show, known as “Spice,” claimed during the recording that Biagini said he had been asked to meet with the school board and had been contacted by a newspaper.

The Valley Independent has contacted the producers.

The primary host, Bubba, stated during the show he would not use the video clips on the Web site if Biagini apologized to him for making derogatory comments about the show’s hosts.

“He controls his own destiny with me and, if he doesn’t apologize to me, then I will release it,” Bubba said during the radio show.

The hosts also stated on the show that when they discovered Biagini was a school teacher, even they second-guessed his decision to enter such a racy contest. “Spice” joked that the contest to date a porn star was fine for a “ditch digger” but not a teacher.
