Porn Valley- Adam Wilcox posts on www.xxxwasteland.wordpress.com – Sunny Lane is undoubtedly “The Girl Next Door Gone Hardcore.” After injuries sustained in an automobile accident ended her dreams of becoming a professional ice skater, Sunny parlayed her unfortunate circumstances into a successful career in adult entertainment.

Also known as “The Shirley Temple of Porn,” Sunny acquired the role of Alice in the 2010 feature porn parody of Alice in Wonderland. Additionally, the Georgia native currently appears in Will Ryder’s newly released Not Jennifer Lopez XXX: An American Idol and The Flying Pink Pig from acclaimed director Erica McLean.

With a strong family support system behind her, Sunny has attracted a gigantic fan base and continues to build her name in the XXX industry, not only as an on-camera performer, but also with her Spice Radio program Whore Talk, which can be heard every Wednesday night on Sirius XM 103 from 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM PST (2:00 AM to 4:00 AM EST).

Sunny kindly spoke with XXX Wasteland to discuss her beginnings in adult entertainment, landing the starring role in Alice, upcoming industry projects she is involved in, hosting her own adult-oriented radio show and much more.

Adam Wilcox: Can you give us some background on how you entered the adult industry?

Sunny Lane: I was a professional ice skater/yoga-pilates instructor-turned-adult-exotic-dancer with Déjà Vu in Tampa, Florida – the Showgirl of the Year for 2004 – and Nightmoves Magazine calendar cover girl for 2005, which sent me out to the AVNs and Playboy found me at Sean Michaels’ party. They said, “You have the look that we want, you’re all natural, great personality, great attitude.“ Bam! What do you know, I go home, tell my parents everything I’m doing, Playboy sent me out there two weeks later with my mother and I’ve been in the business for six years now. I’ve won twenty-one awards and done really well for myself.

AW: Very nice. As you mentioned, you were a professional ice skater before getting into the adult business and actually trained for the Olympics, is that right?

SL: Yeah, I was a Junior Olympian. I’m very fortunate: My parents supported me no matter what I wanted to do in life and I got to play a sport, which was ice skating. I did all three elements – from figures to dance to freestyle/artistic. It was so much fun and such a blessing to be able to do, as I got to enjoy and show my talent of being able to tell a story without opening my mouth – having the talent with my body and my gift of skating. I’m very blessed that I got to do that and become a coach – coach kids, senior citizens and choreograph their programs and get to see them compete. So, I am blessed and very thankful.

AW: Wonderful. I wanted to ask about your family, because your situation is unique in the way that not only are your parents supportive of your career, but they are heavily involved in promoting in as well. Can you talk a little bit about that?

SL: Oh, absolutely. I am so blessed that my parents love me unconditionally. So, I went to them and told them exactly what I was doing by going out to the AVNs and they want to see me happy. I’m not able to skate anymore, so I was able then to try something new in entertainment. They love to see me happy and when I moved to California, six months later I moved my parents out here, because they understand business and they just “get it.” They want to see me happy and successful. I’ve owned my own company since I was 18, so they want to see me increase in my life and be happy. So, my parents came out here and they’ve been my personal managers for my business, Sunny Lane Enterprises, Inc., SunnyLaneLive.com, my website, and Sunny Lane VOD. They were very hands-on in helping out with my business and making good things happen.

Now I have an agency, which is ATM – Shy Love – which does all my adult bookings. Then I have James Bartholet, who is my publicist/manager – he does all my other bookings. I have my Sunny Lane VOD, which is kicking butt and my Sirius XM radio show, which I do every Wednesday from eleven to one. So, I have a great team who help me keep building my image and career. I’m very thankful and my parents still work with me – now they are just more my personal assistants.

AW: I thought it was great that your parents were open-minded to the industry and supportive of your career, because you hear stories about families of other performers not taking their involvement in the business very well. So, it’s nice that they are not only supportive, but actually help you build your name as well.

SL: Yeah, they don’t want to see me go down the wrong road and they want to see me make the right decisions, because they understand my dream and what I’m meant to seek out, accomplish and conquer.

I’m thankful and blessed. It is different and it is very unique, but I’m thankful that they raised me to be open-minded.

AW: You have a part in the recently released Not Jennifer Lopez XXX parody from X-Play and Digital Sin. Can you tell us about your role in the film?

SL: You got that right! Well, my part was a nice little cameo. It was fun and exciting. I got to have a little bit of fun with the Jennifer Lopez character and she was great. It’s salsy and it’s sassy, just like X-Play has always put out. It’s great timing with the whole American Idol thing, so I’m very happy for them.

AW: You also had the starring role in last year’s Alice in Wonderland parody, which was one of the major releases of 2010. How did it feel to land the part?

SL: Wow, for Erica McLean to find me in Berlin at the Venus Berlin show … I was out there for HotMovies. I said, “Good morning, Erica,” and she was like, “You’re my Alice! You have the look that I want and everything. Come back to L.A. We’re doing a casting and I hope you can make it. You should be my Alice.” And what do you know, I happen to fly back the same day that the casting was happening. I nailed it, knocked it out of the park, and – bam! I’m Alice! It was truly remarkable – like I was stepping into a fairytale.

AW: They did a terrific job capturing the essence and look of the original Alice in Wonderland story.

SL: Oh, absolutely. And it’s an urban side of it, so it’s a little mixture of things. It was a lot of fun and very interesting, and Erica McLean is an award-winning director that knows her stuff and she is a really artistic person. She brought all the colors and the liveliness from the fairytale to the adult version. And I got to have sex with all three of the main characters – not at the same time, but at different times, which is awesome in itself. We got to have sex in the woods – Evan Stone and I were in this big, huge hollow tree having sex and the deer walked by and they were all checking us out.

AW: (Laughs)

SL: (Laughs) It was funny.

AW: You participated in a fundraiser last week for Sardo’s Grill and Lounge. I heard a little bit about the benefit, but do you know if the event did well?

SL: From what I know, they raised a lot of money from me and Ronnie (Jeremy). I had to get out of there early, because I was doing a hand modeling gig for Cal Exotic Novelties. I did their whole toy line, so I did 118 toys and I fondled them, showed how they operate, bend and flex. It was a 10-hour gig each day for five days.

AW: Wow.

SL: Yeah, we really knocked it out of the park.

AW: It’s good to hear that the fundraiser did well. I was sorry to hear Sardo’s had fallen on hard times seeing as it has been the home of Porn Star Karaoke for so long and also hosted many charity events for performers who have hit a rough patch. The owner appears to be a good friend of the adult industry, so it’s nice that so many people in the business were willing to help.

SL: Yeah, a lot of people were there. Jessica Drake was there – the whole Wicked crew. Alektra Blue, Alana Evans, Nicki Hunter, of course, Evan Stone and all of the Playboy Spice Radio crew.

AW: Wow.

SL: Yeah, it was good.

AW: It’s nice that they all rallied behind Sardo’s to help them.

SL: Yeah, we have to. Our industry has to stick together.

AW: That’s true. You mentioned your radio show earlier – it is on Sirius 108, I believe?

SL: Right now, 108, and XM 248, but it’s getting ready to change May 3. When I do my show on Wednesday, the 4th, it’s going to be a new station. XM and Sirius are changing all their stations up now, because they’re finally combining into one. So, we are going to be station 103.

AW: Can you tell us a little bit about your show?

SL: Sure! My show is a lot of fun. It’s on Spice Radio – where the audience comes first. It’s every Wednesday night from 11:00 PM until 1:00 AM – that’s Pacific Time. East Coast Time from 2:00 to 4:00 AM. That’s right, I like to play with the bad boys – I like to stay up late! People call in – the name of my show is called “Whore Talk,” because I am the cutest little whore right next door and you would just never know! (Laughs) Because as you know, I do work up at the Bunny Ranch, where it is a legal brothel, and I get to spread my wings and see my fans there. So, my radio show is really great. It’s really abroad to where I talk to girls at brothels, people who write books about sex and just the whole “working girl” mentality.

I talk to girls who are on the Internet, who are working with other web domains and things like that. It’s really awesome and fun, and I really love my show. It’s a two-hour show and I’m the host of it. People can call in and ask me questions about the brothels or how do they pick up a working girl or how can they get me off . We have phone sex and tell stories and I also have segments that I do on the show. It’s very active and a lot of fun and people can call in, get off and have some fun.

AW: You have obviously accomplished a great deal in your career, but do you have any further aspirations in the adult industry?

SL: Oh, of course. I actually got to direct my first film last year called Strap-On Sunny from Tom Byron Pictures. It’s a girl-girl flick. I aspire to keep shooting, writing and keep believing and dreaming and it will keep coming. Just writing, directing and my website – keep getting bigger. I do cam shows on ImLive.com, I cross over into a lot of broad areas. I’ve just recently been in Strip Las Vegas Magazine and having lots of fun there. Just doing it right and having fun. I have some other things in the works I can’t really talk about at this moment. They are mega and you will hear about them in the news.

I have coming up in my schedule this month two appearances here in L.A. I have one at Susie’s Delights, which is May 12. That’s going to be from 7:30 until 9:00 PM. That’s at 18604 Ventura Boulevard – part of Tarzana. What’s going on there is I’m teaching a “How to Give a BJ” – how to give a blowjob.

AW: (Laughs) Cool.

SL: To civilians! So, it’s going to be fun. It’s along the lines of what I’m pursuing and what I’m making happen for my dream. So, I’m very excited and anybody who wants to come out, come on out.

Also, on May 14, I’m doing Bizzy B – 6550 Hollywood Boulevard – from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, where I’m doing autographs. So, that’s truly perfect!

And I can’t forget about The Pink Pig – that’s another Erica McLean movie. The Flying Pink Pig is flying your way. It’s a hot gourmet food service truck with a secret ingredient that I know you’re going to LOVE to have more of!

AW: What are some of your interests and hobbies outside of work?

SL: Well, I LOVE sports because of skating, of course. I love hockey. Right now, the Tampa Bay Lightning are in the second round of the playoffs. So, I’m rooting for my boys all the way, because I used to coach the players’ kids, so I know a lot of them personally. I’m a big sports fanatic – the Olympics, anything like that I’m all about it. Karate, dirt biking – whatever it is, I’m about it. Football, of course, and soccer.

Also, I love to go to the beach and get my nails done. I like to read, do my yoga and meditate, and bring happiness and love to the world!

AW: (Laughs) Well, that’s always a good hobby.

SL: Yeah, totally!

AW: What about favorites: Favorite movie, T.V. shows, music, etc.

SL: My favorite T.V. show would have to be The Doctors. It’s on during the daytime. And, of course, Dr. Oz, Ellen Degeneres – I love her. Charles Rose – I love him, he’s great. I also love Piers Morgan and the Today Show – I love the Today Show.

And music, I love Justin Timberlake, N’Sync, Backstreet Boys, Beyonce, Lil’ Wayne, Jay-Z, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Who, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Katy Perry – I love that “E.T.” song. That’s a hot song. I’m and rock and roll baby.

AW: (Laughs) You sound a lot like me in that you are into a variety of stuff.

SL: Oh, yeah. I like jazz, country. I’m not picky. But hey, do you know what your Wu Tang name is?

AW: No, I don’t.

SL: If you go online, you can get your Wu Tang name. Mine for Sunny Lane is “Thunderous Knight.”

AW: Cool.

SL: You should start asking people, “What’s your Wu Tang name?” (Laughs)

AW: (Laughs) A good conversation-starter.

SL: You got that right!

AW: Are there any more upcoming projects in the works you would like to mention?

SL: Oh, yeah, definitely. I’m doing the Skylar Neil Foundation this week, May 7, for Vince Neil. His daughter passed away with stomach cancer. So, I’m doing that. I have a mainstream movie coming out. I can’t speak about it yet until they tell me I can do that.

Also, during the month of May, I’m going to be at Miami Exxxotica with HotMovies.com. You can get your minute-per-minute movies, download them. DO NOT STEAL – do not steal from us, we don’t steal from you.

AW: That’s right.

SL: I’ll be there with Ron Jeremy and HoooootMovies.com! Yeah! (Laughs) Then next month, I’ll be at the Bunny Ranch, so come and see me. Get your appointments in at [email protected].

AW: Nice. I agree about the piracy issue, not only in the adult industry, but music and everything else as well. It affects a lot of people on many levels, which is something I don’t think most people realize when they steal movies or music.

SL: They think, “Oh, I can get it for free.” But they don’t realize it’s hurting other people’s pockets for food or whatever it might be.

AW: A lot of them probably think they aren’t hurting anybody and that it’s only big-name celebrities and millionaire executives who are losing out and can afford it, but there are many people whose hard work contributes to the success of a company. I heard it said once that there is always somebody who isn’t being paid what they should be because of piracy.

SL: Oh, yeah. Totally. You got it, man.

AW: To finish up, is there anything you wish to say to readers?

SL: Absolutely: I love my fans, I’m going to keep it coming for you and there is a lot of wonderful projects in the works in 2011 and 2012. It’s nothing but bright and shiny when you come take a stroll down my “Lane!”

AW: Very cool. Thanks for your time, Sunny. It’s been a pleasure speaking with you and I wish you continued success in the future.

SL: Thank you very much. I greatly appreciate that, Adam. Keep it rockin’ and poppin’, man!
