San Francisco- from www.sfgate.com – Pink Diamonds nightclub was shut down Friday night, two days after the San Francisco city attorney asked a judge to close the Tenderloin club, calling it a public nuisance and claiming it had been operating illegally.
Ed Pope, who leases the club space and sublets it to the owner of Pink Diamonds, sent a representative to the nightclub at about 8:45 p.m. Friday to close the club, said David Villa-Lobos, executive director of the Community Leadership Alliance, a community action group.
Villa-Lobos said he and three police officers assisted in the closing. Pope and his representative were not available for comment. Pope already has another owner lined up for a new club at the Pink Diamonds location, Villa-Lobos said. Pink Diamonds has been the scene of shootings, a homicide and alleged prostitution.
